About these Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions on which we supply services and products to you.  You should read these terms carefully before you confirm your appointment with us or before you buy products from us. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide services to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. If you think that there is a mistake in these terms, please contact us to discuss.

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions

By booking an appointment or purchasing gift cards or products from Sarah Huse Beauty Ltd you agree to the terms and conditions.

If we have to contact you we will do so by telephone or by writing to you at the email address you provided to us when making your appointment.  “Writing” includes emails. When we use the words “writing” or “written” in these terms, this includes emails.

Your booking of appointments with us

You appointments booked with us via telephone, email, in person or online will be accepted when we confirm each such appointment booked and, if so requested, when we have received your non-refundable deposit in cleared funds, at which point a contract for the services to be provided will come into existence between you and us.

If we are unable to accept your booking for any reason, we will inform you of this by telephone, by email or in person and you will not be charged. This might be because of unexpected limits on our resources which we could not reasonably plan for or because we have identified an error regarding your booking.

I am more than happy to take appointments in advance but would like to make clients aware that on some occasions changes to appointments may be necessary.  We reserve the right to cancel or amend appointments.

Cancellation policy

I understand that cancellation policies are not a comfortable subject, however, as I am very busy and have limited hours, late cancellations and no shows result in other clients missing out on appointment opportunities and have a big impact on my income. I therefore, kindly request that to avoid incurring unnecessary costs and as a matter of common courtesy, 24 hours notice is given if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at 50% of the price of the treatment, reserving the right to keep any deposit taken. If you fail to show up to a scheduled appointment, you will be charged in full for the treatments you are booked in for. Any client that has a history of not attending an appointment without prior notice will be required to pay for future treatments in full at the time of booking.

SMS reminders

I usually send out a courtesy SMS reminder at least 48 hours prior to your appointment reminding you of your appointment date and time. Sarah Huse Beauty Ltd cannot guarantee this service as it is hosted by another company, therefore I impress on you not to rely on this service to remember your appointment. You may still be charged for missing an appointment if you do not receive the reminder text message.

Deposits

A 50% deposit will be required on treatments on treatments over £50.

Arrival times

Please arrive on time for your appointment as arriving late will limit the time of your treatment, reducing its effectiveness and your enjoyment. Your appointment will finish on time to prevent the next client from being delayed. If the reason for a delayed appointment start time is my fault, then you will receive the full treatment time.

Treatment times

All of my facial treatments have an advertised appointment time. The appointment time is the allocated time you are given and allows for time to go through a consultation, time for the treatment, time for the therapist to get you a drink at the end of your treatment, give you appropriate aftercare advice plus time to get changed. It does not mean just the amount of “hands-on” treatment time you should expect to receive i.e. the amount of time the therapist spends massaging.  All times are for guidelines purposes. In some cases, treatments times may be slightly shorter than advertised, especially with waxing, manicure and pedicure treatments. This is due to the area being treated needing less work than the average person, i.e. hair type, hair quantity, amount of hard skin, amount of cuticle, nail bed size etc. I will always try my best to avoid going over the allocated time.

Our rights to make changes

We may change the services to reflect any changes in relevant laws or regulatory requirements, to implement minor technical adjustments and improvements or similar. We may change the services if for any reason we are unable to deliver the treatment as booked. Examples of this would include, without limitation, any health issues that may arise during a consultation that would preclude the booked treatment being carried out safely or if we are restricted by time as result of you arriving late for the booked treatment.

Providing the services

We will supply the services to you at the time and date in accordance with your booking. The services we provide to you will be completed at the end of the appointment booked for the treatment unless you otherwise end the contract for the services as described in these Terms and Conditions or we end the contract by written notice to you as described in these Terms and Conditions.

We are not responsible for delays outside our control. If our performance of the services is affected by an event outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay; we will not be liable for delays caused by the event but if there is a risk of substantial delay you may contact us to end the contract and receive a refund for any treatments you have paid for but not received.

Children and age restrictions

The minimum age for the majority of treatments is 16. Please contact me for more information. Teenagers from the age of 13 to 16 can have waxing, manicures and pedicures but must be accompanied by an adult at all times because none of our staff are CRB checked. “Little lady Manicures” of course require an adult present at all times. Intimate waxing is only available to female clients age 18 and over.

Pregnancy and medical conditions

Any pregnancies, medication or recent medical conditions must be mentioned at the time of booking. During pregnancy, massages and facials can be carried out after the first trimester (12 weeks). We are able to carry out massage treatments and facials on clients undergoing or having recently undergone treatment for cancer, however, I will require a doctor’s letter to do so. I do not recommend having waxing whilst undergoing chemotherapy as skin can become thinner with an increased risk of infection. If you have been diagnosed with any other medical condition that may affect your treatment, I may require a medical certificate to be able to go ahead with your treatment, so please notify me prior to your appointment. I may have to turn you away if we have not been previously notified and a medical certificate has not been provided.

Patch test

I carry out a free patch tests at least 24 hours prior to the following treatments: tanning, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, and 48 hours prior to eyelash extensions and lash lifts or if you have a history of allergies. This is to protect myself and my clients from having an adverse reaction to the products used. If you have had the treatment done elsewhere, I will still insist on a patch test as the product used may be different. This is non-negotiable and is for your own safety.

Manicures and pedicures

Peacci polish can take up to eight hours to dry, sometimes longer, depending on the colour and base coats used. Please allow plenty of drying time after your appointment. Sarah Huse Beauty Ltd cannot accept responsibility for smudged nails once the client has left the salon. The Gel Bottle product range is instant drying. I kindly request that you let me know if you wish to have existing gel removed that was applied elsewhere. I can only remove The Gel Bottle or other similar brands of soft gel, I am unable to remove hard gel or acrylics. I recommend bringing flip flops along to your appointment if having a pedicure with polish. I am happy to repair any damage to The Gel Bottle nails up to a week after your appointment, after this time any damage will be deemed wear and tear. To ensure your manicure or pedicure lasts as long as possible I recommend booking in for a treatment that includes cuticle work.

Waxing

I recommend that the hair being waxed is no shorter than 5mm. If you are a regular shaver the hair may need to be longer than this, as it tends to grow out of the skin at an angle making it more difficult to remove. If you are having a Bikini, Thong or Brazilian wax, trim the hair slightly first. It will minimise pulling on the hair during waxing and therefore reduce any discomfort. Stay away from direct sunlight, sun beds and heat, for example hot baths or saunas, for 48 hours after having a waxing treatment. Avoid skincare products or skincare treatments for 24 hours after waxing. After 24 hours it is important to moisturise and exfoliate the area regularly to avoid in growing hairs.

Gift cards

Sarah Huse Beauty Ltd gift cards can be purchased for any amount and can be exchanged for products or services of an equal value or used in part payment to a higher value. No cash can be redeemed from the voucher and they are non-refundable and non-transferable. The vouchers are valid for 6 months from the purchase date. I will accept expired cards for up to 1 month after the expiry at 50% of their value. I retain the right to refuse out of date gift cards. If buying as a Christmas gift the voucher will be valid for 6 months from the 25th December after the purchase date, but this must be mentioned at the time of purchase. Gift Cards are available to purchase either in the salon, online or over the telephone. If purchased over the telephone we can send the Gift Card to you or the person it is for. I reserve the right to change my prices at any time.

I reserve the right to alter opening times without prior notice.

Use of shop and buying from Sarah Huse Beauty

Product purchases:  We have various products available for purchase in our salon and on our website.  A contract will come into existence at the point we accept your payment in full for each product to be purchased.

To shop with me, you need to:

When you place an order, you should receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order. We then carry out a standard pre-authorisation check to make sure there is enough money on the card.

We only accept your order once payment has been approved and we have debited the payment card (and then the contract is made based on these terms).

You may be able to cancel (not change) your order within a short period of ordering – timings depend on your chosen delivery method (and will be set out in the acknowledgement email). You cannot change your order – you will need to cancel and/or return original item(s) and re-order.

All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price. Some orders can take up to 2 days to process. Don’t worry, if there’s an issue with an order, I’ll get in touch with you.

Very occasionally, we may need to refuse or cancel an order or close or freeze an account (even if we have previously confirmed your order) where we reasonably suspect something untoward.   If this happens to you and you believe we have made a mistake, please get in touch with me.

Prices

Prices of the services and products will be the price set out in our price list in force at the date of your order unless we have agreed another price in writing. We use our best efforts to ensure that the prices of services and products advised to you are correct. It is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the services or products we sell may be incorrectly priced. Where the service’s or product’s correct price at the time of booking your appointment or purchase is less than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount. If the service’s or product’s correct price at the time of booking your appointment or purchase is higher than the price stated, we will ask you for your instructions. If we accept and process your order where a pricing error is obvious and unmistakeable and could reasonably have been recognised by you as a mispricing, we may end the contract, refund you any sums you have paid and not perform the services or deliver the products.

Delivery

Before you finalise your order, you will be given various delivery options to choose from with estimated delivery time and dates depending on the delivery address.  Such delivery times are not guaranteed.

Returns and refunds

You have 28 days to return an item from when it’s delivered (we strongly recommend that you get proof of postage). Items must be unopened and unused and returned in a saleable condition.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

We will carry out our services with due skill and care.

Nothing in these terms of sale will limit or exclude your or our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (ii) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) for any matter for which it would be illegal for to limit or exclude, or attempt to limit or exclude, liability.

Subject to this, the products we sell are intended for personal use only and we will not be liable for any business losses, including without limitation loss of income or revenue, loss of business, loss of profits or contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data or waste of management or office time.

The treatments used and products use may in limited circumstances give rise to unforeseen physical reactions.  We shall have no liability to any customers for such reactions where a consultation was undertaken and the therapist, acting reasonably, could not have foreseen the reaction.

Chemicals and products used during treatments and bought from us may mark and/or stain material including, clothing, jewellery and others consumer goods.  We would always ask you to be mindful of the clothing and jewellery wear to an appointment given this risk and also when using your purchased products.  We accept no responsibility for damages to personal property.

We accept no responsibility for your vehicle or contents parked at our premises.

Complaints or questions

Occasionally things do go wrong and you may want to get in touch with me. If that happens, please contact me, I will work with you to endeavour to resolve any issues you’re having with my services:
